The FAQ

Do you Travel?

I am located in Berks county, PA and travel throughout Berks, Montgomery, Lehigh and Chester counties. If you have a location outside of that area, please reach out and let me know - I am always up for a new adventure!

What are your favorite locations?

I love the beauty of nature as a backdrop! Some of my favorite local locations are Valley Forge, Daniel Boone Homestead, Lock Ridge Park, and Green Lane Park. I know there is also no place like home, and would be happy to schedule a lifestyle session in the comfort of your own home!

How long have you been doing this?

I have always loved taking pictures, even since I was a teenager. My husband bought me my first "nice" camera when our oldest daughter was born in 2010. It started as a hobby of capturing life with our daughter and has turned into a passion for capturing those precious moments for others. Ellie Elisabeth Photography was officially started in 2020.

How many photos do we get?

A standard session (family, children, maternity or newborn) includes 20 edited photos of your choice, with the option to purchase additional images or the entire gallery if you love them all! Mini sessions are offered throughout the year at special times (ex. spring, Mommy & Me, fall, Christmas, etc) and the price, time, and number of images vary depending on the session.

How do we get our photos?

All photos are delivered to you in an online gallery. You can purchase prints or products from my store, or download the images to save, share or print as you wish.

What's your turn around time?

I always try to get your pictures back as soon as possible, and you will get a sneak peek within 24 hours. Typical turnaround time for a standard session is up to 2 weeks. Mini session photos are delivered within 5-7 days. For larger events, like a wedding, please allow up to 5 weeks.

How do we book you?

Just contact me via email at ellieelisabethphotography@gmail.com, contact@ellieelisabethphotography.com, or through the contact section of this website. We'll discuss different options for dates and times to see what fits your schedule best.

What is the best time of day to get photos?

The best time to get photos is a couple of hours before sunset. This is the time we refer to as "golden hour" when the sun is low and the light is magical. Therefore the best time for pictures in the spring/summer is early evening, and mid-late afternoon in the late fall/winter.

How far out do you book?

This can vary depending on the time of year and schedules and could be anywhere from several days to several weeks out. I would recommend contacting me as soon as you start thinking about photos so that we can find the best day and time.

What should we do for our lifestyle session?

Family sessions - I recommend making sure that everyone is dressed appropriately for the weather! Most of my shoots are outdoors, and kids that are too hot or too cold don't usually like to cooperate. Eating before your session is also recommended - whether its a newborn baby or a rambunctious 5 year old, kids are much happier and more agreeable when they are full! Other than that, please come ready to have fun and laugh a lot!

What should we wear?

Dress appropriately for the weather. Most of my sessions are outdoors, so I recommend cool and breathable fabrics in the spring and summer, and layers in the cooler months.
Coordinate, don't match. Depending on the size of your family, pick 3-5 complementing colors - neutrals and earth tones photograph well and are always a good choice. Patterns can add a nice touch, but I do recommend keeping them small and subtle. Textured fabrics like muslin, linen, soft lace and corduroy can add extra interest.
A fun way to get your kids involved is to give them a couple of options and let them help pick their outfit for the day. Don't forget the accessories - a cute headband, bow, or hat can really add that extra flare!

What if my kids don't cooperate?

As a mom of 5, I have lots of experience with kids and I don't mind if they're a little shy or a little crazy. We'll spend the first few minutes just getting to know each other and take some time to warm up. I always do my best to capture some great shots no matter their mood, and I have never had someone come away from a session without at least a few photos they love of their kids.
