The FAQ
Do you travel?
I am located in Berks county, PA and travel throughout Berks, Montgomery, Lehigh and Chester counties. If you have a location outside of that area, please reach out and let me know - I am always up for a new adventure!
How long have you been doing this?
I have always loved taking pictures, even since I was a teenager. My husband bought me my first "nice" camera when our oldest daughter was born in 2010. It started as a hobby of capturing life with our daughter and has turned into a passion for capturing those precious moments for others. Ellie Elisabeth Photography was officially started in 2020.
How do we get our photos?
All photos are delivered to you in an online gallery. I will send you a sneak peek through your email, and you will later receive online access to your final gallery with all of your images. You can download, share or print any and all images that you want!
How do we book a session?
The best way to contact me is through email at ellieelisabethphotography@gmail.com, contact@ellieelisabethphotography.com. You can also click the contact section here in the website. We'll discuss different options for dates, times and locations to see what fits your schedule best and make your vision come to life!
How far out do you book?
This can vary depending on the time of year and schedules and could be anywhere from several days to several weeks out. I would recommend contacting me as soon as you start thinking about photos so that we can find the best day and time.
What should we wear?
Dress appropriately for the weather. Most of my sessions are outdoors, so I recommend cool and breathable fabrics in the spring and summer, and layers in the cooler months.
Coordinate colors, don't match. Depending on the size of your family, pick 3-5 complementing colors - neutrals and earth tones photograph well and are always a good choice. Patterns can add a nice touch, but I do recommend keeping them small and subtle. Textured fabrics like muslin, linen, soft lace and corduroy can add extra interest.
A fun way to get your kids involved is to give them a couple of options and let them help pick their outfit for the day. Don't forget the accessories - a cute headband, bow, or hat can really add that extra flare!
What are your favorite locations?
I love the beauty of nature as a backdrop! Some of my favorite local locations are Valley Forge, Daniel Boone Homestead, Lock Ridge Park, and Green Lane Park. I know there is also no place like home, and would be happy to schedule a lifestyle session in the comfort of your own home!
How many photos do we get?
A standard session (family, senior, maternity or newborn) includes a sneak peek within 48 hours and digital access to your entire gallery. You can share, download or print any and all photos you like! I am a chronic overshooter, so a typical gallery usually includes 100+ photos.
What's your turn around time?
I always try to get your pictures back as soon as possible, and you will get a sneak peek within 48 hours. Typical turnaround time for a standard session is 2-3 weeks. Larger events like weddings may take up to 6 weeks for your final gallery to be delivered.
What is the best time of day to get photos?
The best time to get photos is a couple of hours before sunset. This is the time we refer to as "golden hour" when the sun is low and the light is magical. Therefore the best time for pictures in the spring/summer is early evening, and mid-late afternoon in the late fall/winter.
What should we do for our lifestyle session?
Family sessions - I recommend making sure that everyone is dressed appropriately for the weather! Most of my shoots are outdoors, and kids that are too hot or too cold don't usually like to cooperate. Eating before your session is also recommended - whether its a newborn baby or a rambunctious 5 year old, kids are much happier and more agreeable when their bellies are full! Other than that, please come ready to have fun and laugh a lot!
What if my kids don't cooperate?
As a mom of 5, I have lots of experience with kids and I don't mind if they're a little shy or a little crazy. We'll spend the first few minutes just getting to know each other and take some time to warm up. I am very patient and always do my best to capture some great shots no matter their mood. I have never had someone come away from a session without at least a few photos they love of their kids, even when it has been a rough day.
