Newell Family - Lock Ridge Park
I've had the pleasure of knowing the Newells for a few years now, and it's always a lot of fun to spend time with them. They had their last little one in 2020 and Barbara had been wanting to get some updated photos as a family of 6. They were brave enough to get some outdoor photos in January and were the first official session of 2022. It has been chilly and rainy both times we've taken their family photos, but you would never know it based on their smiles and attitude. As a photographer, I prefer the candid, in the moment photos over the perfectly posed shots, because that is real life, especially with kids - and this family always delivers on the fun candid pictures. I love capturing those shots, because I think they so accurately portray what you're feeling in that moment. The way Barbara looks at her kids as she holds them. The pride that you see in Tyler's eyes. The mischievous smiles and hearty giggles from the kids. The wonder in little Theo as he toddles around. These kids all have their own personalities and I love how that shines through in their pictures. There was definitely an abundance of giggles and sweet dance moves during this session and I love that we got to capture some of that. Maybe one day we'll get some warm, sunny photos!
